Technology Day at Fosse Way School June 2006

A very successful Technology day was held at Fosse Way School on 23rd June, involving 70 pupils from Westfield, Farmborough and Fosse Way. The children worked collaboratively on a range of activities based on the theme of ‘Shelters’.

The activities included making healthy snacks/drinks, fire writing, making lava lamps and designing and making shelters.

The children and staff who were involved had a great time and learnt about the importance of design.

This day was very much the culmination of a range of activities that Fosse Way School has been supporting with it’s Primary partners. These have taken place during the year and have involved joint planning with the schools on a number of Technology projects.

A member of staff from Fosse Way has then resourced the projects and gone into the schools on a regular basis to help deliver the topics.

It's intense work putting a shelter together. You have to concentrate really hard!

But with a lot of people working together, it comes together really quickly!

Fire- writing! A special solution of chemicals, and the focused rays of the sun!

It looks like goo to you and me! But that's what ends up inside lava lamps!

Enjoying a cup of their delicious, healthy fresh fruit smoothies - looks like they might be strawberry flavoured.
