| Visit to Division TEACCH in North Carolina |
 |
During half Term a group of B&NES teachers including six from Fosse Way School had the opportunity through Best Practise Network to visit Division TEACCH at Asheville, North Carolina.

The group on their way!
A very varied programme included visits to Blue Ridge Bags (adult employment site), job sites andinterviews with service provider Autism Society North Carolina.

We were also given the opportunity to visit a Progressive Education Programme at a High School, while the chance to observe TEACCH therapists teaching young children proved to be a highlight of the visit. We also met with young adults and their families in a social setting - which gave us a very comprehensive look at provision in North Carolina.

All staff agreed that the visit had been an enormous success, and we have come back with loads of new ideas and an even greater commitment to TEACCH
