WORK WITH FARMBOROUGH SCHOOL

As part of Fosse Way School's successful bid for Specialist Technology College Status, there is a commitment to inclusion work with partner primary schools.

An outcome of our inaugural technology teachers meeting was that we started a program to support the delivery of Q.C.A schemes of work in our partner mainstream primary schools.

The first unit we targeted was Fairgrounds, as teachers felt that this was a unit that was particularly difficult to deliver in a mainstream context.

The project involved Rob our technology technician in creating a package that included; planning, preparing resources (downloadable resource’s will be available shortly) and delivering the unit in conjunction with staff at Farmborough School.

The project provided an opportunity for both schools to collaborate to the benefit of their pupils.

The project took place at Farmborough School for a period of six weeks, with several Fosse Way pupils in regular attendance.

During the project pupils participated in a range of activity’s including; designing fantasy rides, pulley and belt games, experimenting with methods of electrical control and constructing their own rides. The following pictures illustrate a range of the activities involved.
