KS3A GEOGRAPY TRIP TO THE SOMERSET LEVELS

This week KS3A went on a geography trip to the Somerset Levels, exploring another different type of landscape in their local area. They went to the nature reserve at Shapwick - beautiful surroundings though the weather could've been better!

The levels were a big contrast to the hills and gorges they visited earlier in the course, and they noted a lot of differences in the sort of things that could grow there simply because it was a different type of landscape.

They particularly enjoyed using the 'hides' so that they could watch the wildlife without scaring the birds and animals away.

KS3A setting off on the levels!

KS3A noting how level the Levels actually are! There were reams and marshy area's all over the place.

Using one of the hides - nice weather for ducks!

Watching for wildlife is very relaxing and enjoyable. They could've stayed there for hours!
