KS4 Fire Safety Visits

In their Citizenship lessons this term, KS4 have had a series of visits from the Fire Brigade to talk to them about fire safety and the dangers of fire, their jobs and what precautions can be taken  to save lives.

It has been a very interesting course - there have been videos, up close experience of the equipment that the firemen use (they even got to try some of it on!) and everyone learned something new - including the adults.

Did you know that if you live in the B&NES area you can request a free smoke alarm and the fire brigade will come and install it? No, neither did we!

Kitting up in all the fire fitting equipment. You have to be fit just to be able to wear the outfit!

A fine figure of a Fosse way Fire Man!

An exercise showing how hard it is to rescue people in a smoke filled house where they wouldn't be able to see. It was hard enough in the classroom - nobody would want to do it for real!
