Support Sites  and resources for Parents and Students

• PARIS - Public Autism Resource and Information Service -A searcheable web database that allows you to locate ASD related services of all kinds in your area

• Autism Exchange Forum - A forum for exchange of information between parents and carers, with professionals contributions.

• National Autistic Society - this has practically everything to do with ASD in the UK. Support lines, information, research, events. A good place to start if you want to know anything about Autism.

• Connexions - The home page of the Connexions service that help with transition placements, finding colleges and advice for students.

• WIDGIT - Writing with symbols free downloadable stories and resources. Very useful for parents and teachers as they are available in a format which doesn't need the software to be able to print it out.

• Division TEACCH Homepage - Home of the TEACCH approach Fosse Way use with regard to ASD students. We have strong links with Division TEACCH and Professor Gary Mesibov holds a conference based at Fosse Way school every year.

• Online inset training - Online inset is a training facility with courses applicable to staff and parents.

• SENSE - Professional development site for Special Schools.

Education Resource websites

• Kingsbury Primary School site - online activities and  educational games.

          Some of these can be downloaded so they can be used off line on home computers.

          Also a useful teacher resource  for lesson plans etc.

• Priory Woods School Website - Excellent resources for interactive teaching
• Poisson Rouge - a site with a lot of wonderful online activities aimed at developing Early years skills
• Primary Games Website - A site with simple online games that link directly to curriculum skills. Some games better than others.

• The SEN Forum - a relatively new forum for SEN issues, particularly useful in that it has a section for B Squared that the makers of B Squared maintain.
• Times Educational Supplement Resource Bank. Useful database where resources have been shared by teachers. Not always SEN, but there is an SEN Forum that is very active as well.
