Sport
The main aims of the sport curriculum are
- to enable all pupils to develop their physical skills,
appropriate to their individual capabilities
- to emphasis performance, working with others, health
and hygiene, safety and the ability to plan and review
work.
A wide range of activities are offered, ranging
from more traditional sports such as football and swimming
through to skiing and hill-walking. Sports competitions
are also arranged within the school.
The school shares a swimming pool on site with
Westfield school. South Wansdyke Leisure Centre is used
for squash and weight training. The school has its own
playing fields and hard surface area.
Pupils in Key Stages 4 and 5 are involved in
a Leisure Pursuits course, which offers a broad range
of activities both on and off site.
Fosse Way is a member of the SSSSA, an association
of special schools whose aim is to provide inter-school
sports competitions.
