School Council

The School Council is made up of student representatives voted in from each tutor group and advocates for those groups who are unable to represent themselves. The School Council take issues and suggestions from their groups to the Council for discussion, and then make requests and recommendations to the Chair, Laura Seymour who takes their views to the Senior Leadership team.

The School Council frequently decide on and spear head charitable initiatives in the school, and decide which days such as Children in Need or Red Nose Day they want to support. They also have a say in the allocation of donated funds, or fundraising itself. They are able to raise issues important to them, and are frequently involved in the interview process for new Teachers, TA’s and Senior Leadership.

The School Council is the student’s most direct route in having a say, an influence and a personal investment in the school. It has proved to be a very positive experience for the pupils and the staffs.
