Student Welfare Support in School

The Welfare team

The Welfare team consists of 3 adults on site daily who are not timetabled to specific classes. Within the Welfare team, we have a ‘Learning to access tutor’ who works with specific pupils or groups of pupils to support emotional regulation and social interaction. Two adults are available daily to provide pupils and staff with additional support beyond their class teams. The welfare team is available to offer support, a time out, or space for anyone finding things difficult.

What the Welfare team can do;

  • Swap out with another adult to allow them to support a child
  • Spend time with a child who is finding things challenging
  • Offer support and ideas to class teams or pupils
  • Provide regulatory activities
  • Provide space, movement or time out.

They are trained in BFAIR, PROACT-SCIPr-UK, Zones of Regulation, Problem scale and uphold the school’s values and rules.
